What Abilivo is
Abilivo is a software tool that evaluates research papers and applicant evidence against publicly available criteria from US immigration regulations (EB1A under 8 CFR § 204.5(h)(3) and related). It produces structured assessments — scores, evidence citations, identified gaps, suggested actions — using a large language model (Anthropic Claude).
What Abilivo is not
- Not a law firm. No attorney-client relationship is formed by using this site.
- Not legal advice. Our output is software-generated commentary on submitted text, not legal counsel.
- Not a guarantee. A high score from Abilivo does not predict USCIS approval. A low score does not preclude success in front of a sympathetic officer. USCIS officer discretion is real and unpredictable.
- Not a substitute for an attorney. Filing a merit-based immigration petition without competent legal review is risky and we do not recommend it.
Acceptable use
By using Abilivo you agree:
- You will not submit other people's confidential documents without their consent.
- You will not use the service to commit fraud, misrepresent evidence to USCIS, or assist anyone else in doing so.
- You will not attempt to abuse the demo (e.g., bypass rate limits, scrape outputs, automate large-scale evaluations) without our written permission.
- You will not present Abilivo's output as a legal opinion to a third party, including USCIS, attorneys, or applicants.
AI-generated content disclaimer
Abilivo uses a large language model. The output is generated by software and can:
- Be wrong about specific facts in your paper or evidence
- Miscount, miscite, or misclassify regulatory criteria
- Hallucinate items not present in your input
- Score inconsistently across runs (the model is non-deterministic)
- Reflect biases or gaps in its training data
Treat every output as a draft for human review, never as a final answer. Verify all claims against the underlying evidence and the actual regulatory text.
No ghostwriting
Abilivo's Plan mode and similar features produce structure, venue suggestions, citation prompts, and guiding questions — they do not draft the prose of academic papers or expert opinion letters. AI-generated paper text creates real risk: USCIS scrutiny of AI-assisted petitions, journal retraction policies, and academic integrity violations. We will not provide a feature that ghostwrites your work.
Privacy
See the Privacy page. Summary: we don't store the content you submit on Abilivo servers. Inputs are transmitted to Anthropic for processing and the response is returned to your browser. The only personal data we store is whatever you voluntarily submit through the optional request-access form.
BYOK (Bring-Your-Own-Key) users
If you supply your own Anthropic API key, you are responsible for the cost of those API calls. Anthropic bills you directly. Abilivo does not mark up, intercept, or store your key — we forward it to Anthropic via HTTPS and discard it.
Demo limits
The free demo is rate-limited per IP per day. We may change the limits, pause the demo, or shut it down at any time. There is no SLA on demo availability.
Warranty disclaimer
Abilivo is provided "as is". We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Use at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Abilivo and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. This includes (without limitation) lost USCIS filing fees, denied petitions, lost opportunities, attorney fees, or emotional distress. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Abilivo is capped at the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months, which for free-tier users is $0.
Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and (where applicable) the State of [TBD on incorporation]. Until Abilivo is incorporated, disputes are between you and the founder personally; no entity exists yet to sue.
